How to Make a Marketing Plan
I can’t believe it. I really did it.
I left my salaried job almost exactly a year ago and started my own agency, “The Marketing Witch.”
I’d been mentoring business owners for years, and I felt like an imposter not being a business owner myself. So I started the LLC and went for it.
To be honest - I was terrified. But still, I made more money in my first year of business than I ever have in a single year. And, I worked way less than I ever have before.
All because I had a strategic marketing plan (and, consistently executed it).
The biggest mistake business owners make is trying to work without a plan. It’s like driving with no directions and wondering why you’re lost.
That’s why when I started The Marketing Witch, the first thing I did was build a plan based on how much money I wanted to make (this is the first thing we do in my business coaching group).
How to Make Your Marketing Plan
First, decide how much money you want to make in the next year (or, quarter), and, how you want to spend your time.
****Let’s say your goal is to make $100,000 next year.
Next, figure out what you need to sell to make that happen.
Think outside the box of what you already offer. You can easily change your offers, prices, products, etc.
In order to make $10,000, you’d have to sell:
Ten, $10,000 offers
Twenty, $5000 offers
500 $200 offers
1667 $60 offers
Etc.
Or, a combination of them.
Look for easier and more efficient paths toward your goals.
If you’re ONLY selling $5 yoga classes, you’d have to get 20,000 students over the course of the year. That’s nearly impossible…
But if you raise your prices to $25 per class, you’d only need to get 4000 people to show up over the course of the year. But even that’s tough….
So maybe instead, you sell 500 $200 monthly memberships for unlimited access to your classes over the course of the year.
Or maybe you decide that the $5 yoga classes are just a way to get people in the room so you can sell them something more expensive, like a $2500 Yoga Teacher Training Program, a retreat, etc. In that case, you’d want more people in classes - so the $5 price tag would make sense.
My point is, the path to your goals doesn’t have to be long and grueling.
If you spend a few hours brainstorming "work smarter" ideas, it'll save you time and money later on.
Plan your offers, events, and promotions accordingly.
Now that you know what you're going to be selling and have clear revenue goals, you can create offers and plan promotions accordingly.
If you take the time to make a strategic plan, you’ll end up reaching your goals faster, and easier than you ever thought possible.

When I say you’ll end up reaching your goals more quickly, and much more easily than you ever thought possible - I mean it.
The first thing we do in my business coaching group is create your marketing plan.
Then, I’ll mentor you for three months to make sure you do what you say you’re going to do, challenge your limiting ideas and beliefs, and push you to go further than you thought you could in three months.
Here are just a few of the messages I’ve gotten from past members:
As this wraps up I just want to say, I was within $300 of my overall three-month goal while basically starting a new business. I was the most productive I’ve been with content, programming, etc in years. Maybe ever? Since becoming a Personal Trainer, I’ve never stuck to a more structured plan. -Bernadette M.
I got 3 new sign-ups for my corporate YTT! I’m up to 15! 10 was my good goal and 20 is my great goal! I did some book keeping and realized I surpassed my goal for the month by a couple hundred dollars! Whoop whoop! Just doing everything Kass says forever and ever. -Samantha H.
I was just going through my bank statements and I had to share that this was my highest month ever!!! -Meghan G.
My income has grown exponentially, and I am working with dream students! But, you have to be willing to put in the work and listen to Kass. Write. Complete your assignments on time. Make the posts she suggests. Write some more! Some of it will feel hard or uncomfortable, but it’s worth it. -Mary R.
